Ethics and Policing: Chief Graham will discuss examples of the 'right vs right dilemmas' that we all face at work and in our private lives and what strategy can be used to make the right decision.  It’s all about doing the right thing.  The key issue for the success of any police department is trust.  The people we serve must trust us.\n  \n  2.  Leadership 101 for Police Chiefs\; their relationship with elected officials and other gov't agencies. It is all about relationships.   \n    Speaker's Bio:   JAMIE HAMILTON GRAHAM\n Jamie H. Graham\, O.O.M.\, SBStJ was appointed Chief Constable of the Victoria Police Department\, the 12th in its history\, in December 2008. He was the previous Chief Constable (Police Chief) of the Vancouver Police Department from 2002 to 2007\, retiring after completing his five year contract.  Before that he served just under 35 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police\, holding a number of command\, investigative and executive positions in British Columbia and Alberta. He has lectured extensively on leadership\, security issues\, relationship building\, crisis management\, mental health and workplace wellness.\n Chief Graham is an active member of local\, Provincial\, National and International Associations of Police Chiefs.  He has been involved in considerable committee work in support of these organizations and has been widely recognized for his advocacy work and efforts. He is Vice President of the B.C. Association of Municipal Police Chiefs. He is a Director at Large of the British Columbia Association of Chiefs of Police (BCACP) and "Chairs" their Traffic Committee and the Ethics & Integrity Committee. He is also a member of the Canadian Assn of Chiefs of Police (CACP) Traffic and Ethics Committees. He is a Director on the provincial Board of the B.C. Schizophrenia Society and a member of the Advisory Board of Victoria's Salvation Army branch. He is also a member of the National Speaker's Bureau.\n During his policing tenure\, Chief Graham has lead or been heavily involved in many facets of policing\, from the International Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCC)\, President of the BCACP\, the national Executive Committee of Criminal Intelligence Service Canada (CISC)\, Gaming and Mental Health Committees of the BCACP and a member of the Board of Governance for the Combined Forces Special Investigation Unit (formerly Organized Crime Agency of BC).  Under Chief Graham's leadership the 2010 Winter Olympic Torch Run was successful protected as it commenced its Canada-wide journey in Victoria amongst protests.\n Chief Graham is a reliable and committed professional with a proven record of success.  He is well known for his reputation as a no-nonsense leader and problem solver. He is a popular lecturer and speaker.
